At Pitt, Matt Galambos was a tireless worker on and off the field. He was a guy that was first in the film room and last to leave. On the field, I never had to ask him to "turn it up" since he always brought a high motor and passion to compete every single day. Matt's most impressive attribute is his football intelligence (FBI) and desire to constantly learn more. He truly was a coach on the field and it made my job a lot easier when we could have intelligent, insightful conversations on the sideline about the opponent. With the signal caller of our defense exercising these intangibles EVERY day, it made him an unquestioned leader of our defense and forced his teammates to match his enthusiasm. I very much enjoyed my two years coaching Matt, he is a special player and an even better person.
